Why Luxent Exists

Why we built Luxent.

The fastest way to ruin a beautiful backyard is bad outdoor lighting.

A 200-watt floodlight on the side of the garage. A motion sensor that fires when the wind moves. A solar light from the discount store that throws cold blue light onto soft amber furniture. The yard you spent a weekend setting up gets lit like a parking lot, and the night ends three hours earlier than it should.

That's the problem we kept running into.

The yard you actually live in

Most outdoor lighting is built for one thing: visibility. See the threat. See the step. See the door. It treats your yard like a perimeter to defend, not a room to live in.

But the yards we actually love — the post-dinner patios, the candle-lit garden tables, the long Tuesday evenings outside in summer — those don't need a floodlight. They need the same kind of soft, warm, intentional light that a restaurant uses, or a hotel terrace, or the back patio of the wine bar you keep going back to.

That light costs hundreds of dollars per fixture in a hardware store. Requires an electrician. Often a permit. Always a weekend of inconvenience.

It shouldn't.

What Luxent is

Luxent is solar-powered outdoor lighting designed to look like the high-end fixtures you've Googled at midnight, at a price you don't have to think about for two days before clicking buy.

Every piece runs on solar. Every piece is warm-temperature (2700–3000K — the color of candlelight, not security cameras). Every piece installs in under 90 seconds with no wiring, no extension cords, and no permit.

We don't make 47 products. We make 10 — the ones that actually matter, the ones that together turn a backyard into a place people don't want to leave. Each one has a name, not an SKU. The Flicker. The Sconce. The Stairlight. The Crackle.

The honest standard

We're new. We're small. We don't pretend to be a 30-year heritage brand — we're the brand we wished existed when we were Googling outdoor lighting at midnight.

What we promise:

• The light is warm. Always. No exceptions. If we wouldn't put it on our own patio, we don't sell it.
• The build is honest. Brushed aluminum, cast metal, real glass — not plastic-pretending-to-be-metal.
• The price is the price. No fake markdowns. No "$240 SAVE 50% NOW $129" theatrics. If we sell a bundle, it's because the set was designed together — not because we marked everything up first.
• The promise is real. 60-day returns. No restocking fees. If it isn't right for your home, send it back.

That's the standard. We measure ourselves against it.

What we want for your yard

We want you to spend more time outside this summer than last summer. We want the night to last longer. We want your friends to leave dinner at 11pm instead of 9:30. We want you to come home from work and stand on your back step at dusk and feel like the yard is somewhere worth being.
